Social Traders is a leading Australian industry body for social enterprise and social performance, connecting businesses with certified social enterprises and helping organisations measure and report on the social impact generated through their procurement activities.
Turning Procurement into Social Impact
Social procurement creates value beyond the products and services being purchased. By directing spend towards social enterprises, organisations can support businesses that create employment opportunities and deliver positive outcomes for communities.
In 2025, Cirka spent $100,000 with certified social enterprises, with 65% of that spend directed towards social enterprises generating direct employment outcomes. Marginalised youth and new migrant and refugee communities were the two largest beneficiary groups supported through this spend.
Strengthening Our Social Procurement Approach
Our Social Traders membership will help Cirka build on this progress by strengthening how we source from social enterprises and track the social performance and impact generated through our supply chain.
It also supports our broader approach to responsible procurement, where purchasing decisions can contribute to meaningful social outcomes alongside operational and commercial value.
